New Video

It is well overdue. Thank you so much to all of you who insisted I post new videos more often. I need this push from you. Today, I would like to share with you my latest video from New York. As you can imagine, New York provided us with so many visual opportunities that we decided to split the material into three parts. Here is Part 1 – I trust you will enjoy it. Please make sure to subscribe and share your thoughts. Your feedback is always welcome.

  1. Brilliant stuff Olaf, and yes, a video was long overdue. Absolutely loved the photographs at Times Square; capturing the abundance of pink neon reflected on the veil of the bride is the stuff of street-photography legend. Loved the photo of the couple under the umbrella along with all the shots of the folks in the rain towards the end of the video.

Thanks for including your “technique” for talking to strangers. Always great to see the maestro at work!

I just love seeing the rapid and fluid way you switch mental gears. You are talking about the corner window reflection when you see your subject, a few seconds later you have already introduced yourself, obtained permission, and have taken the first photo. Less than two minutes later, the man is on his way and you have at least one really great shot! Bravo!!!

Your focus and ability to distill the “visual noise” of the city to its purer elements is really showcased in this video.

    1. Hello Homi,

Thank you so much for your kind commentary. You made my day!

      Warm Regards,

      Olaf

P.S. Will be sending you an email.

    1. Hello John,

Thank you so much for subscribing. Just realised that we have so much footage going back two years. It will provide enough material for many videos 🙂

      Cheers,

      Olaf

  2. Great video. That is great advice to focus on the details and not try and take it all in. I recently went to Tokyo and had trouble following this advice since it was all so bright and amazing. Looking forward to part 2.
