I miss the road

It has been a while since our last road trip. For the past few months we have been focused on creative seeing mostly in large cities around the world. However, this year we would like to do a few road trips as well.

There is something magical about hitting the road. Maybe it is the sheer size of Canada and/or US, which allows you to explore the unknown for days or even weeks. Maybe it is the freedom to stop at any time and ponder the next turn. Or maybe it is just the mystery of remote and less-travelled. Whatever it is, I long for IT.

All imagery taken with the X-series cameras and lenses.

  1. Olaf, when you left the big skies for the big cities, it took me some time to see why you did it and to really appreciate the new urban images you do so well. That said, this post made me nostalgic for the big skies and the ghost towns. So good to hear that now we’ll get both!

    1. Bob,

It is so wonderful to hear from you. I guess my “On The Road” photographic persona is still well and alive. Kasia and I have been thinking a lot about both of you. With our crazy schedule it is hard to make plans for such free-spirited escapades but once we come back from Europe this March, we will be hitting the road for sure.

      Warm Regards,

      Olaf

  2. Excellent pictures. The truth is that when you look at them, they transpose you to those beautiful landscapes.

    1. Antonio,

Thank you so much. Interestingly enough, today I was going through my images from Barcelona. You are living in a truly stunning country. I cannot wait to visit again.

      All the best,

      Olaf

  4. Beautiful photos of the ‘big skies’, something somewhat lacking this side of the ‘pond’ 🙁

    1. Roger,

Thank you so much. Your side of the pond has other tributes, which I often miss.

      All the best,

      Olaf
